GENERAL

Vietnamese visa is a type of travel document granted by competent Vietnamese authorities, providing permission to travel to and enter Viet Nam.
Viet Nam e-Visa is valid for a maximum of 90 days, for single or multiple entries.
Electronic visa for foreigners holding passports who are not falling under the provisions of Clauses 1, 2, 3, and 4 of Article 8 of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners in Viet Nam.
The e-visa application fee is paid through the e-visa portal's e-payment gateway and is non-refundable in case the visa is not granted.
E-visa fee: 25 USD for a single-entry visa / 50 USD for a multiple-entry visa.
Foreigners using e-visas must enter and exit Viet Nam through international border gates designated by the Government (list of border gates).

CONDITIONS FOR ISSUING AN ELECTRONIC VISA

Foreigners outside Viet Nam
Passport or valid international travel document.
Not falling under the cases of suspension from entry as prescribed in Article 21 of the Law on foreigners' entry, exit, transit, and residence in Viet Nam.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF FOREIGNERS

Rights of foreigners entering, exiting, transiting, and residing in Viet Nam under the Law on Entry, Exit, and Residence of Foreigners in Viet Nam (see details).
Obligations of foreigners entering, exiting, transiting, and residing in Viet Nam under the Law on Entry, Exit, and Residence of Foreigners in Viet Nam: (1) To comply with Vietnamese laws and respect Vietnamese cultural traditions, customs, and practices; (2) To conduct activities in Viet Nam in accordance with the purpose of entry; (3) To carry passports or international travel documents, as well as documents related to residence in Viet Nam, when traveling, and to present them when requested by competent authorities; (4) Permanent residents of foreign nationality who exit Viet Nam to reside permanently in another country must return their permanent resident cards to the exit and entry control unit at the border gate; (5) To present passports or international travel documents, as well as documents related to residence in Viet Nam, to accommodation establishments to make temporary residence declarations as prescribed.

NOTES

e-Visa holders in Viet Nam may be eligible to apply for a new visa if invited or guaranteed by an authority, organization, or individual in Viet Nam, in accordance with the Law on Foreigners' Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence in Viet Nam.

Foreigners entering Viet Nam must comply with Vietnamese law.

Notice: Foreigners falling under the categories prescribed in Clauses 1, 2, 3, and 4 of Article 8 of the Law on foreigners' entry, exit, transit, and residence in Viet Nam are not eligible to apply for an e-Visa on this website. They must submit visa applications through the inviting or guaranteeing agencies or organizations to the competent agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Applicant must declare sufficiently, accurately and honestly all true information in English.
With multiple choices questions, applicant is required to tick on all the appropriate answers.
In case choosing “Others” answers, applicant must declare specific information.
e-Visa application will be denied if there is any dishonest information in the application found by Viet Nam Immigration Authority.
Visa is issued for foreigners who are currently abroad, wishing to enter into Viet Nam (not to foreigners who are currently temporary resident in Viet Nam).
Electronic visas can only be used for entry and exit through border gates that are on the list approved by the Government of Viet Nam.

Foreigners subject to the provisions in Clauses 1, 2, 3, and 4 of Article 8 of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners in Viet Nam are not required to apply for electronic visas but must go through the inviting and sponsoring agencies and organizations. They must submit a written request for a visa to the competent agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Member of the guest delegation of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, President, Chairman of the National Assembly, Prime Minister.
- Member of the guest delegation of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, Vice President, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Fatherland Front, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Director of the Supreme People's Procuracy, State Auditor General; members of the guest delegation at the same level of Ministers and equivalent, Provincial Party Secretary, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Chairman of the People's Committee of provinces and centrally run cities.
- Members of diplomatic missions, consular offices, representative offices of international organizations under the United Nations, representative offices of intergovernmental organizations and their spouses and children 18 years old, accompanying maid on term basis
- People coming to work with diplomatic missions, consular offices, representative offices of international organizations under the United Nations, representative offices of intergovernmental organizations; people visiting members of diplomatic missions, consular offices, representative agencies of international organizations under the United Nations, representative agencies of intergovernmental organizations.
